"Today, Mansoor his family have received a letter from the Home Office stating that they have obtained leave to remain in the UK.

I am sure you will all be overjoyed by this development. I have to say that Mansoor's campaign to remain in the UK has been sustained through his membership of the NUJ and the support of other trade unions and the labour movement.

This was no one-man campaign  but a journey of uncertainty that was sustained by everyone concerned. It has been a shining example of solidarity, kindness and the humanity of individuals who have reached out to help others in need and distress."
