About NCADC Train-the-Trainer seminars
In 2005, NCADC started giving workshops on how to set up an anti-deportation campaign which has helped enable communities to build up their own capacity to establish campaigns. Over 1,500 people have attended the NCADC workshops - many new campaigns have been established and the "community of resistance" has swelled as a result. But it's still not nearly enough to meet the needs of those facing deportation who need advice about establishing anti-deportation campaigns.

With help from Barrow Cadbury, NCADC set up the "Train-the-Trainer" project to train and support people to hold their own anti-deportation campaign workshops in their communities.

Train to be a workshop trainer with experienced, successful local campaigners.

"I got a few friends to come to an NCADC anti-deportation campaign workshop - we set up a campaign, using many of the tips we learned in the workshop.  We fought and won.  I feel strongly that if there are more trainers out there in the community to give workshops, more people will end up safe, like me."
Perparim Demaj

"I started my campaign by almost religiously following all the steps I'd been shown in the NCADC workshop.  As I gained experience, my campaign developed it's own style and tactics.  But the NCADC workshop gave us a great basis and confidence to fight.  I won refugee status and I want to give my own workshops within the Congolese community in Manchester".
Innocent Nkung

"Workshops provide an essential opportunity to share experience and sort out how to share resources and skills with other campaigns in the community. I remember holding a banner with Perparim - "Honk To Stop British Airways Deporting Zimbabweans".  He's from Kosovo and I'm Pakistani.  It doesn't matter, solidarity across the campaigns is vital."
